  • On 26 June 2013, the 100th anniversary of the birth of Aimé Césaire, a poet and politician from Martinique, a museum and memorial space was inaugurated in the last office he occupied on the first floor of the old hotel. city ​​of Fort-de-France. This space of 112 m² is the one that Aimé Césaire occupied from 1956 to 1976 as mayor before joining a new office at the Municipal Administrative Center. He found his original workspace as honorary mayor from 2001.
