- Known by locals as Moniman trwa lezel and erected in 1978 to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the town of Victoria, the monument was created by Italian artist Lorenzo Appiani, who lived in Seychelles. The three wings are supposed to signify the origins of the Seychellois people who are a blend of ethnic groups of three continents: Africa, Europe, and Asia.
