- The Tahiti-Moorea Marathon started in 1989 and is an international running event with over 1,500 runners from all over the world. The race course is on the beautiful island of Moorea and is known as one of the most beautiful exotic marathons in the world. The event features opening ceremonies that highlight Polynesian culture through dances and Polynesian oratory art known as Orero.
