Additional Details

  • The first Butterfly Farm in Saint Martin opened its doors to the public in 1994. It is also called La Ferme Des Papillons because of its location on the French-side of the tiny dual nation Caribbean Island of St Martin/St Maarten. It was designed and built by two eccentric Englishmen, William Slayter (owner) and John Coward.(Source: Website)

Several years after establishing a similar butterfly farm on the twin-nation island of St. Martin-St. Maarten, The Butterfly Farm was opened in Oranjestad on the island of Aruba in 1999. While on The Butterfly Farm, you will walk through a lush tropical rainforest, take in the sights of beautiful flowers, sturdy trees, inviting ponds and a trickling waterfall with exotic butterflies representing a myriad species flying all around you. Guided tours are available throughout the day and photos and videos are allowed.
