The Museum of Mallorca is owned by the state, with the management transferred to the Government of the Balearic Islands and with the organic dependence of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Universities. It was created by decree of November 2, 1961, from the collections of the old Provincial Museum of Fine Arts, from the Marroig collection, from the archaeological collections owned by the State, from the collections deposited by the Luliana Archaeological Society and the Prado Museum. Since then, the funds have increased in an extraordinary way, divided into several sections: archeology, ethnography, fine arts and decorative and industrial arts. (Source: Business Website)
