The Armenistis Lighthouse (Faros Armenistis) in Mykonos was built in 1891 after the sinking of a British ship. It is considered both proof of and tribute to Mykonos’ maritime past. It is 19 meters tall (62.3 feet) and its original lighting mechanism can be seen at the nearby Aegean Maritime Museum.
